Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 · Last updated: 12 July 2026

The Valyo community is a space for small-business owners to share honest updates, tips, questions and wins. These guidelines apply to every post, comment, image and profile detail you share. Posting on Valyo means you agree to them and to our Terms and Conditions.

Who can see your posts

The community is members-only. Approved posts — including your display name, profile photo, category and date — are visible to other signed-in Valyo members. They are not shown to visitors without an account and are not indexed by search engines. Even so, we can't stop another member copying or sharing what you post outside Valyo, so don't share anything you wouldn't be comfortable other business owners seeing linked to your name.

You can also tick "Post as an anonymous member" in the composer. When you do, other members see the post as "Anonymous member" with no name or profile photo. This option is not available for the "Used an offer" category, where reviews must be attributable. Anonymity is towards other members only — our moderation team can still see who posted, so the rules in these guidelines continue to apply and we can act on breaches. See our Privacy Policy for more on how this works.

What we welcome

  • Honest reviews of software or offers you've used.
  • Genuine questions and answers about running a small business.
  • Tips, lessons learned, and constructive feedback.
  • Milestone updates about your business.

What isn't allowed

  • Self-promotion, ads or affiliate spam. The community is not a place to advertise your own product, service, event, discount code or referral link.
  • Illegal content. No content that is unlawful under UK law, including harassment, threats, incitement to violence, hate speech targeting a protected characteristic, terrorism-related material, or child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Suspected CSAM will be reported to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and, where required, to law enforcement.
  • Fraud and scams. No phishing, fake job offers, "guaranteed returns", crypto pumps, MLM recruiting or misleading investment pitches.
  • Abuse, harassment or discrimination. Attack ideas, not people. Zero tolerance for slurs or targeted harassment.
  • Personal data about others. Don't share anyone else's name, email, phone number, address, photo or private correspondence without their clear consent.
  • Confidential or defamatory content. Don't share NDAs, internal documents, or unproven allegations about identifiable people or companies.
  • Copyright violations. Only post images, screenshots or text you own or have the right to share.
  • Explicit, graphic or NSFW content. Including violent imagery.
  • Anything designed to game the platform. Duplicate posts, fake accounts, or coordinated liking.

How moderation works

  • Every post is reviewed by our team before it is published.
  • Posts that break these rules are rejected. Repeat or serious breaches may result in your account being suspended or removed.
  • We may edit, hide or remove approved content at any time if it later turns out to breach the rules or the law.
  • You can have at most 2 posts awaiting review at once, and 3 approved posts per 7 days, to keep the feed varied.
  • Each post can include up to 3 images.

Reporting a post

If you see something that shouldn't be on Valyo, use the Report button on the post. Reports go straight to our moderation queue and we review them quickly. For urgent safety concerns or suspected illegal content, please also email now@joinvaylo.com so we can act immediately.

Copyright and intellectual property

If you believe content on Valyo infringes your copyright, trade mark or other IP rights, email now@joinvaylo.com with (a) a description of the work and where it appears on Valyo (a URL is ideal), (b) your contact details, and (c) confirmation that you're the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We aim to review takedown notices within 5 working days and will remove or restrict access to infringing content where the claim is valid.

Under-18s

Valyo is a service for people running businesses and isn't designed for children. You must be at least 18 to create an account and post on the community.

Changes

We may update these guidelines from time to time. The version number at the top will change. Continued use of the community after an update means you accept the revised guidelines.
